Many people ask themselves this question before trying Melty for the first time - and that's a good thing. After all, anyone buying a functional snack that is supposed to be more than just chocolate has every right to take a close look.
And so do we. That's why we're explaining to you quite openly what's in Melty, why we rely on plant-based ingredients - and what you can realistically expect.
Natural ingredients instead of synthetic shortcuts
Melty is not a pill. Not an energy drink. Not a quick fix.
Melty is chocolate - but chocolate with an active ingredient formula that is backed by real science.
We developed it together with Dr. rer. nat. Martin Müller, graduate chemist and one of the most experienced independent experts for food and food supplements in Germany.
He accompanies Melty as a scientific advisor and has designed our combination of active ingredients on the basis of current research. The key question was: What does nature already have to offer in terms of vitality, pleasure and well-being - and how can this be meaningfully integrated into a moment of pleasure? The answer was surprisingly rich.
The active ingredients behind Melty
Maca - the root from the Andes
Maca(Lepidium meyenii) has been used for centuries by peoples in the Peruvian high Andes - traditionally to support energy, stamina and libido.
The macamides and glucosinolates it contains are considered the key bioactive compounds. A randomized, double-blind pilot study (Gonzales et al., 2002, Journal of Andrology) showed that the intake of maca extract significantly increased subjective sexual desire in men over a period of 12 weeks - independent of testosterone levels, which indicates an independent mechanism of action.
Ginseng - the root of kings
Ginseng(Panax ginseng) is one of the best-researched adaptogens in the world. The active compounds - the so-called ginsenosides - modulate the hypothalamic-pituitary axis and can thus reduce physical and mental fatigue.
Of particular interest: A clinical study published in the Journal of Urology (Hong et al., 2002) showed that red ginseng achieved significant improvements in men with erectile dysfunction.
The authors assume that ginsenosides stimulate the release of nitric oxide in the erectile tissue - a mechanism that is also used pharmacologically, but in this case by herbal means.

L-arginine - the blood flow booster
L-arginine is a semi-essential amino acid and a direct precursor of nitric oxide (NO) - produced by the enzyme NO synthase. NO relaxes the smooth muscles of the blood vessels (vasodilation) and thus improves blood flow throughout the body, including the genital region.
A meta-analysis in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology (Rhim et al., 2019) investigated the efficacy of L-arginine supplementation and concluded that L-arginine - especially in combination with other active ingredients - can significantly improve erectile function.
We have specifically concentrated L-arginine in Melty to support precisely this effect.
So, does Melty really work?
Yes - but with the right expectations.
Melty is not a drug and does not replace medical treatment. What Melty does: It supplies your body with plant-based compounds that have been scientifically researched and specifically combined by Dr. Müller - now in a form that is actually fun.
The effect of herbal ingredients is usually subtle, cumulative and individual. This means that if you try Melty once, you may feel a slight warmth, a pleasant relaxation or a little extra energy. If you enjoy Melty regularly, you give the ingredients the chance to develop their full potential.
Our promise
We don't make promises we can't keep. We don't sell miracles. What we offer is a conscious alternative: chocolate that not only tastes good, but can also make a difference based on real science.
Try it for yourself - and let the ingredients speak for themselves.

Melty. For moments that count.
